It is no news that the Executive Chairman, Odi-olowo/Ojuwoye, Hon Rasaq Olusola Ajala, has been constantly engaging in a weekly social intervention programme that benefits the people of Odiolowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area and even beyond. What is newsworthy is the memorable social intervention in commemorating the one-year remembrance of his late father, Alhaji Raheem Ajala Eleniyan where he gave out over N7m to the people.
Like every other Thursday, Hon Ajala had chosen Thursday 17th October, 2019 for the remembrance programme.
As a usual practice, people had gathered as early as 8 am in his office, males and females, young and old, politicians and non politicians to receive their gifts.
Hon Ajala, who began sharing cash to the beneficiaries on arrival explained that the level of poverty in the land was immeasurable. "And as government, we must intervene to cushion the effects of the economic hardship on our people."
"Provision made by my office to do all of these is too small to cater for the mammoth crowd that always come for assistance but I have to always give out on my personal accounts to the people," he added.
He further stated that It had been the wish of his late father to continue to help the less privileged and to mark the one-year remembrance of exit from this world, he is compelled to put smiles on the faces of residents across his LCDA.
"May Almighty Allah grant him and my late mother Aljanat Firdaus," he prayed.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke were full of praises to Hon Ajala for the kind gesture extended to them. Mulikatu Mogaji who is a resident on Olateju Street thanked Hon Ajala for the kind gesture. Another beneficiary, Modupe Sadiq, a resident on Adeniyi Street at Onipanu also thanked him for the gift. She prayed to God to continue to bless and protect him.
Also, Muyiwa Obafemi from Kayode street gave kudos to Hon Ajala for the gift he received. He equally prayed to God to continue to bless him.
