YOU HAVE CAPACITY AND CAPABILITY TO CHANGE FROM INFERIOR GENDER TO A SUPER SUPERIOR GENDER - HON AJALA.

The Chairman, Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Olusola Ajala, on Monday 23rd September, 2019 hosted a group of female teenagers across the local council development area on the occasion of the World Girls Day which comes up in a week's time.
The pre-event which was tagged "The girl as Agent of Transformation" was organized by an NGO, The Woman In Me Outreach (TWIM) in commemoration of the World Girls Child Day.
Addressing girls in his office, Hon Ajala thanked the convener of the event for using her God's given talents and knowledge to organize this event for the promotion of the girls in the local council development area. He said, "Her kind gesture to see that our girls occupy a significant space in our community, state, nation and the world at large is well appreciated."
"The narration out there about girl child is that of an inferior gender. The same narration that our local government and council development area, Mushin/Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye area is full of vices and that nothing good can come from them," he added.
He further stated that most men that had made mark in their respective careers are all products of women. He stressed that there was no way we could alk about men and their achievements without mentioning women who brought them to this world.
He admonished the girls to have the belief that what a man can do, a woman can do better and they should not talk it but must also work it.
He said, "Girls should not relent; they should start preparing for their tomorrows. They must be determined about the positions they want to occupy, role they intend to play in their community, state, the nation and the global world."
He advised them to develop Catholic flair for reading and pray hard.
He said women were being subjected to lots of harassment. "Minors are constantly abused not only by strangers but also by family members and even parents.
He said: "The trend is as a result of decay in our moral value and excessive exposure to the Western cultures through the internet and other social media.
He admonished the girls to aspire to become a topnotcher in any career they choose for themselves so as to be able to compete favourably with their male counterparts and even higher.
He encouraged them to add handwork to their school activities to get a required skills to complement their formal education. He said. " There are no more "white collar jobs" out there anymore, though the formal education will give them advantage over the people without formal education if they choose to engage in skill acquisitions.
The coordinator of the group, Mrs Ijeoma Anniwuagwu iheanacho thanked the chairman for giving them his time despite his tight schedules. She said his message would sink and be remembered by the girls for a long time to come.
She called on the girls to adhere to what the chairman has told them and believe in themselves because nothing can stand on their way on what they want to become.
Those at the event were the supervisor for Youth and Sports, Hon Rodiat Ifeoluwa Jimon, Special Assistant on Youth, Mrs Kafilat Faith, Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Chairman, Hon Babatunde Ilyas Abubakar, Special Assistant on New Media Mr Diipo Aremo Akinsete among others.
