Jakande Summer Tech Boot Camp Graduates 600 as He Unveils Maiden 1 Day Chairman

The Council’s Secretariat in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA was buzzing with excitement on Wednesday, August 27, as approximately 600 children celebrated their graduation from the Hon. Seyi Jakande Summer Tech Boot Camp. This significant event marked the culmination of 2 weeks of intensive learning and hands-on experience in technology.

The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of outstanding performers from both 2 centres of the boot camp. Aliyah Arojobi was awarded the certificate and a laptop as the best graduating student in the junior category, while Makinde Israel took home the top honours in the senior category with laptop and certificate too. Their achievements were celebrated by peers and family members alike, serving as inspiration for all participants.

A significant moment during the ceremony was the unveiling of Mr. Oluwakunmi Oyegunle as the maiden "One-Day Chairman," fulfilling a campaign promise made by Hon. Jakande during the election period. This innovative initiative aims to empower youth by giving them a voice in local governance, fostering a sense of responsibility and leadership among the younger generation.

Speaking at the event, Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Seyi Jakande emphasized the importance of technological education in empowering young minds. "Investing in our youth is investing in the future of our community," he stated. "This program has equipped our children with invaluable skills that will serve them well in an increasingly digital world."

The best graduating student in the senior category, Makinde, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the program. “This boot camp has opened my eyes to the endless possibilities within the tech world. I am excited to continue my journey in technology and innovation,” he remarked.

Hon. Jakande concluded the ceremony by promising the community that more events like this would be organized as part of his ongoing HEWA Agenda, aimed at fostering education, empowerment, and sustainable development in the region. "We are committed to creating more opportunities for our youth, ensuring they are well-prepared to face the challenges of the future," he affirmed.

In attendance were esteemed dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye, Hon. Oluwagbeminiyi Awodogan; Leader of the House Hon. Olamilekan Adeyi; Party Chairman Hon. Babatunde Ismail; Council Treasurer Mr. Mujitabah Rufai, all the Councillors from the Council; Odi-Olowo Party Scribe Hon. M.A Olaniyan; the LCDA’s CAN President, Bishop Babatunde Durowoju; Baale of Olorunsogo, Chief Ikudaisi, management and staff and Iyaloja of Odi-Olowo, Alhaja Ojuwoye, all of whom played a vital role in gracing the event with their presence and participated during the award presentations.
